A changing role for the teacher librarian built on social networks & collaboration

How can teacher librarians consider the challenging task of sharing knowledge?

Through planning, collaboration and relationship building, it can be done.

And isn’t that what social networking is about?

The very key is PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT in INNOVATION! Utilising the best tools to extract information, organise information and present links innovatively to support knowledge creation requires innovative people to design then promote access by encouraging all to become confident in the use of Web tools.

Maybe empowerment of innovative tool mastery is what Johnson (September 17, 2009) refers as the pinnacle for problem solving and hope for solutions in an otherwise grim future.

Nonetheless, the urgency for instruction has risen from compounding evasive information escalation and is compounding. The empowerment for change is in the hands of the changing role of teacher librarians, emphasising imaginative ‘manipulation, management, and maintenance’ privileges in cahoots with the ICT team.

It is an urgent request.
